Your reputation with email providers depends on many factors. One of the most important is the number of spam reports.
Receiving a complaint isn't a good thing, but continuing to send emails to the sender is even more damaging to your deliverability.
Some email providers offer feedback loops to retrieve and process these reports. Therefore, it is imperative to subscribe to them to avoid reputation issues. This is the role of your mail server, so it is important to check with them what is in place.
What is a feedback loop?
It is a programme that allows the recovery and processing of spam reports, such as unsubscribes.
Internationally, Microsoft using the JMRPP, Yahoo! and AOL, among others, offer this service.
At the French provider level, LaPoste has recently launched its own service. SignalSpam offers a service shared between several domains: Orange, SFR.
Signing up for feedback loops doesn't mean that complaints will be ignored by email providers. On the other hand, it allows for not re-contacting someone who has made a report.
Where can one sign up for these feedback loops?
Hotmail/Outlook – Junk Mail Reporting Program (JMRP)
Yahoo!
AOL
Signal Spam (Orange / SFR)
LaPoste.net
What should the router do?
1/ Read the ARF format feedback loops transmit complaint reports in ARF (Abuse Reporting Format).
2/ Sign emails with DKIM Certains courriels exigent la signature DKIM des courriels pour être utilisés.
3/ Automate processing A loop can send a report at any time. It's important that unsubscribing is done automatically to save you from doing this tedious work.
Regarding SmartProfile and Mailissimo

In 2015, the solutions partnered with Signal Spam to handle complaints issued by French email providers.
In 2016, La Poste's feedback loop was put in place.
Both solutions sign all outgoing emails in DKIM.
Reports are processed in real-time and contacts are automatically unsubscribed from the database. An indicator can differentiate between a normal unsubscribe and an unsubscribe due to a complaint.
